"Terry, Sorry it’s taken ‘til now to get back to you, but Karen and I wanted to let you know what a great job you did last Saturday night for Katherine and Brian’s wedding. The consensus opinion (of guests, relatives, family, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and college friends) was that you were great. You have a diverse audience to please, you know how to do it and you did it. A tip of the hat to you and DJ’s Direct. Your sound system was excellent. Your management of the volume level from song to song and during cocktails and dinner was masterful. Your control of the crowd with song selection and placement was just great. Your Master of Ceremony tasks and the timing was right on the button and very helpful. The limited chatter between songs was wonderful (I’ve attended weddings where the DJ thought it was his event to audition for Ed McMahon’s job). Your helpful tips with the microphone for thank you announcements and toasts were very much needed and welcome. Wow! I could go on, but … You specifically, Terry, and DJ’s Direct will receive very positive press from Karen and me when asked by other bridal parents for recommendations. Thank you, Jerry Maier (jmaier@indy.rr.com) P.S. Katherine said she had a bit of muscle soreness Sunday before they left on their honeymoon. Cripes, not that doing the worm in a wedding gown could have been the cause of it, fer’ cryin’ out loud! Note# 2: My aunt, Sister Helen, commented during dinner what a nice reception and the classy music you were playing. This was about 45 seconds into Moonlight Serenade. Sister Helen is 84 and has her doctorate from IU in music so she has some passing knowledge of the subject. Thank you for playing Glenn Miller. It was beautiful and the the folks of the greatest generation loved it. Note# 3: Thanks for the heads up on the placement of the cake table, the concern about the slide show viewing time and your attention to the details. Your raising of issues and possible issues is appreciated because you see so many similar events and you raise these issues in a very professional way. Great job! Although it’s a very stressful time for the hosts, those details are important for better photos and better service for the guests and an on-time professional looking and feeling event.
